Undeniably that among all available smartphone’s voice assistants from Amazon, Apple, and Google all improves on their accuracy, however Google Assistant still takes the lead being the most accurate voice assistant so far.
Thanks to the ever growing population of smartphone users utilizing the ready available voice recognition especially on smartphones or devices with Amazon Alexa, Apple Siri, and Google Assistant that keeps on getting better at understanding and answering questions using human’s common questions to help improve their AI.
Accessing through the voice sensor command was meant to be the next advanced technology of computer interfaces, according to the Loup Ventures investor analysts has identified that which company was being the top of the list being interface for voice input.
Loup Venture Company has tested Amazon Alexa, Apple Siri, Google Assistant and Microsoft Cortana against huge amounts of 800 questions to discover which was more superior.
Google have successively answered 88% of questions correctly, while Apple was inferior since only able to scored 75%, whereas for Alexa scored little lower at 72.5%, and Cortana came in with 63% the lowest.
The above result was tested on smart speakers instead of tested on a smartphones.
Second test was then performed by Loup Ventures on ‘IQ’ test where the test now focused solely on assistant capabilities on the smartphone and not to include Cortana because Microsoft was decided no longer with the huge superior competitors of Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri.
Even by removing cortana from the list, focusing solely on voice assistants on smartphone usage has not changed the order of the rankings and winners have been decided the same as well.
Google Assistant yet again takes the lead by being most superior with score of 92.9% for answering questions correctly compared to Siri and Alexa.
This time Siri answered correctly for 83.1% of questions, whereas for Alexa gets the most inferior answered at 79.8% correct.
You should be curious on what questions being asked, that are quite usual question which usually adult may think to ask on their phone for example “Where is the nearest coffee shop?”.
The typical questions asked were designed specifically to test each system’s capability to provide how much accurate the information about local things, businesses, navigation and importantly to execute commands.
Since the ranking of smartphone IQ test rankings are the same as the smart speaker test, Loup Ventures analysts Gene Munster and Will Thompson, forgave the ranking of Alexa’s overall performance due to negatively influenced by commands since it is an app rather than fully integrated system into the device and operating system such as Siri or Google.
Even though Apple Siri performed best on commands instead of Google, but in overview the “Google Assistant was on the top ranking in four of the five categories yet loss to Siri only in the Command category again.
Siri also being tested out that ongoingly to prove with much more useful when coming into the phone-related functions such as calling, texting, emailing, calendar, and music according to Loup Ventures.
Since both Siri and Google Assistant are embedded into the OS of the phone, thus that are resulting a significant outperformed result than Alexa in the Command section.
As we know that Alexa built on as a third-party app, bringing capability to able send voice messages and call to other Alexa devices, yet lack of the feature to send text messages, emails, or even to trigger a phone call.
Loup Ventures stressed about that, the assistants on smartphones should be considered differently from smart speakers because they’re being consumed differently and known to come with different type of interfaces. Because the smart speaker does not have screens for more inputs especially our visual to define what to feedback into the system once we decide if there are options being brought by the voice commands.
In short, Google Assistant is the winner best in overall however unable to win on Siri especially in the Command category.
