Draining your phone’s battery life can be a critical factor if there are applications (Apps) that don’t work like how it is supposed to be. This behaviour of apps can be affected by a bug that

Your battery life can take a big hit if an app doesn’t work like it’s supposed to. This could be caused by anything from a bug to an aggressive operation on the background feature. This aggressive consumption of battery life would usually be recorded by your phone.

You can identify this by going to Settings > Battery > Menu > Battery Usage (usually the apps drained most will be ranked at top of the list)

If you notice there are apps that you don’t usually use much, then you should uninstall it and keep track of your battery usage again for a day to witness the improvements. Force close the unused apps would also help you get the same battery saving as well. For apps that don’t prove useful, get rid of the apps and use alternative lite apps. You just have to make sure that there are no battery killer apps in your phone to keep your phone’s battery life being drained unnoticeably.

There are times where you are not going to use some apps that you have installed, therefore you should check which apps you really didn’t use at all and decide to uninstall it to avoid battery draining in the background not noticeably. You can uninstall any unused apps with following methods:

Long press on the App’s Icon > click Uninstall > OK.

(OR)

Settings > Apps > tap on Apps name > Uninstall > OK.

The Super AMOLED screen on Samsung smartphones can produce a very sharp, bright and clear display output. With this OLED technology screen, commonly the colour pixels would consume more battery than black pixel colour, this is why the Dark mode was present to save longer battery life. By enabling dark mode, most common compatible apps will turn to dark mode as well such as Youtube, Gmail, Webpage & more.

You can enable Dark Mode in the setting as follows:

Settings > Display > First Option is to select ‘Light’ or ‘Dark’ mode.

6. Disable GPS Function If Not in use:

Your phone consumes more battery life from the GPS feature when turned on. However, for some of the apps, we would conveniently want our smartphone to take control of how the apps would use the GPS location only when recommended or necessary.

When you enable the GPS location feature, it will consume more battery life with the setting of “Improved Accuracy” being enabled as well.

You can disable this feature inside the Settings > Location > Improved Accuracy > to disable “Wi-Fi scanning” and “Bluetooth scanning”.

Here is an extra tip for you to disable the unnecessary use of GPS location by giving permission for apps that don’t require it at all times. You can set app permissions to use GPS Location as follows:

  • Disable/deny

High display brightness and long screen time-out setting will increase battery drain. One of the simplest way to prolong your device battery life is to reduce the screen brightness, and here’s how you can do it:

Setting> Display > adjust the ‘Brightness’ level.

You can also set the brightness with Adaptive brightness, whereby this will help to automatically adjust your screen brightness level based on the current lighting conditions. Example if you are in bright sunlight condition, your display will automatically set to higher brightness so that you can see your screen clearer, thereby it will lower the screen brightness if you are in lowlight or dark environment.

Settings > Display > Screen timeout > set to lowest duration based on your preference.

To turn off AOD:

Settings > Lock Screen > Always On Display > turn off by sliding the circle to left.

To show AOD as schedule:
