This DeX feature allows you to enjoy a clearer view in Samsung’s Desktop mode called DeX. You can perform multitasking with Office tools and much more with a huge screen.

Galaxy S9, S10, S20, S21 and newer,
Note8, Note9, Note10, Note 20, and newer Note series phone,
Z Fold series phones,

How to Setup DeX cable or HDMI cable to your Monitor or TV?
You need to connect a standard “USB-C to HDMI” cable to a monitor or TV to start DeX.
For the first time using DeX, a pop up message will display on your Home screen and tap Continue to start and allow Full Desktop mode.
Another popup will appear on the notification panel to ask you whether you want to “Use your phone as a touchpad” acting as an easier cursor navigation.
To Exit DeX, you can turn off DeX by tapping on the bottom left corner to Exit DeX.
You need to be aware to save all of the changes made while using DeX, because if you unplug the HDMI cable the DeX will restart
Why Do We Use DeX Cable or HDMI Cable to connect DeX instead of Wireless DeX?
Since most of the content on your phone will need to travel wireless to your Smart TV, thus this would require higher latency speed for smoother video or media consumption which can only be achievable when using a cable connected DeX. However, if you are using Wireless DeX, minor youtube, web browsing and office words consumption would be smooth without any issue.
SAMSUNG DEX WIRELESS SETUP
Samsung Wireless DeX is only supported on Samsung 2018 TVs or newer TV, and on other branded smart TVs that support Miracast technology. It is recommended that some 2018 TVs may get better display results by using cable HDMI connection for DeX.
If your Samsung phone comes with One UI 3.1 update, you can now use DeX Wireless on your Smart TV without needing any cables or DeX accessories. Wireless DeX allows launching up to 5 apps at once on the TV.
How to setup or turn on DeX Wireless setup?
Swipe down from the top of the screen for the Quick settings panel, and then tap on the DeX icon.
Then, you select the TV or monitor from the list and tap Start now to launch DeX.
Your TV or monitor may pop up to ask you “whether to allow the connection?”, select “Allow”. Then you can now use Wireless DeX mode on your TV or monitor.
As usual, swipe down from top of screen to select touchpad notification to enable your phone as a touchpad.
How to set up and use Samsung DeX on PC?
Take note that this feature DeX on PC only compatible for phone such as:
Galaxy Fold series or newer,
Galaxy S10, S20, S21 or newer S series,
Galaxy Note10, Note20, or newer Note series,
Galaxy Z Fold, or newer Z Fold series.
However for other Samsung phones and Galaxy tablets DeX is not compatible on PC.
How to setup Samsung DeX on your PC Window, you need to follow these steps:
Download and install Samsung DeX for PC apps.
Open Samsung DeX on PC and connect compatible phone to PC using “USB-C to USB-C” cable , or “USB-C to USB-A” cable.
Wait a few seconds for the phone to connect and a DeX window will appear on your monitor.
To exit DeX, you can tap on the Apps icon on the bottom left corner of the screen, the tap on Exit DeX.
The fun things that you can do with Samsung DeX for PC:
You can drag and drop files from the PC to the Samsung DeX window. Just ensure you have the device’s USB setting set to transferring files.
You can also text your phone’s contacts from your PC easily.
Copy and paste text from phone to PC was achievable easily and vice versa.
You can operate 5 apps from your phone on PC that will resize appropriately for great desktop experience.

What are the productive ways I utilize Samsung Wireless DeX?
Since it was pretty convenient to utilize the large Smart TV screen in my living room instead of using a PC, I paired the combination with Bluetooth Keyboard and mouse or keyboard touchpad.
Thanks to this Samsung Wireless DeX feature, I can turn my TV into a desktop mode PC-like feature, that allows me to perform office work, web browsing and some YouTube videos easily for much productive work throughout the day without having to turn on a long waiting PC.
Should we use Bluetooth Keyboard and mouse or keyboard touchpad with Samsung Dex?
My favorite setup is commonly fixed on the keyboard with touchpad for Samsung Dex/Wireless DeX. In order to avoid too many cable connections to the TV or cost and messiness, I prefer the simplicity of using a Bluetooth keyboard, mouse or keyboard with touchpad for full productivity.

What Should I Do If My TV Was Incompatible with Samsung Wireless DeX?
